Julie Gettman

Julie Gettman, PhD, NCSP, ABSNP

Dr. Julie Gettman is the Executive Director of the School Neuropsychology Institute. She is a Licensed School Psychologist, Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and earned Diplomate status in School Neuropsychology from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. Dr. Gettman received her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Colorado - Boulder, and her master’s degree in educational psychology and doctorate in school psychology at the University of Denver. She has 29 years of experience as a practitioner in public school, university, test publishing, private practice, and forensic settings. She has presented at the district, state, and national level; collaborated with psychology thought leaders and test authors; and is a co-editor of Best practices in school neuropsychology: Guidelines for effective practice, assessment, and evidence-based intervention (2nd Ed.) and Understanding and managing neurodevelopmental disorders in children and adolescents: A pediatric treatment guide. Dr. Gettman currently owns Mindworks Assessment, a private practice and consulting company specializing in comprehensive neurocognitive assessment for children and adolescents.

Christopher Bedford

Chris Bedford, Ph.D., ABSNP

Dr. Chris Bedford is the Associate Director of the School Neuropsychology Institute. He has been working with children, adolescents, and adults for more than 15 years. His work in psychology began as a therapist in college counseling centers, and he developed expertise in neurocognitive assessment in his post-doctoral training after earning his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. Since becoming a licensed psychologist in Minnesota, Dr. Bedford has earned a post-doctoral master's degree in clinical psychopharmacology, was trained in memory intervention by Dr. Milton Dehn, earned Diplomate status in School Neuropsychology from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. He is a co-editor of the Best Practices in School Neuropsychology, Second Edition (2022). Dr. Bedford currently operates a private practice in St. Paul, Minnesota. He is a frequent presenter at conferences and schools and is known for his ability to blend practice, theory, and research, and to describe complex information in easy to understand and meaningful ways.

Staci Suits

Staci Lorenzo Suits, Ed.D., ABSNP

Dr. Staci Suits is an Associate Director of the School Neuropsychology Institute. She brings over two decades of experience as a school psychologist in public schools to her work in private practice, where she specializes in comprehensive school neuropsychological evaluations. She holds an Ed.D. in School Psychology from Loyola University Chicago and has achieved diplomate status in School Neuropsychology. With extensive experience in content creation and editing, Dr. Suits has contributed to a wide range of resource materials, including blogs, articles, newsletters, and training content related to school psychology, special education, literacy development, family and student engagement, and mental health. Dr. Suits has presented at state and national school psychology conferences and has held a leadership position as an Interest Group Co-Coordinator with the National Association of School Psychologists. She is passionate about training the next generation of school psychologists through her experiences as an adjunct professor and practicum supervisor, as well as supporting practitioners during clinical supervision in the School Neuropsychology post-graduate certification program. She champions strengths-based practices in her work with students and families and applies these same principles in supervision to foster professional growth and confidence in the field.

Daniel Miller

Daniel C. Miller, PhD, ABPP, ABSNP, NCSP

Dr. Daniel C. Miller is the Founder of the School Neuropsychology Institute, President of KIDS, Inc., and founder of Report Insights LLC, which produces the PsychWriter Pro, an online automated report generation program. He has more than 40 years of experience in school psychology and more than 30 years of experience in school neuropsychology. Dr. Miller received a doctoral degree from The Ohio State University in 1989. His doctoral studies were a unique blend between school psychology, neuropsychology, and electrophysiology. Dr. Miller is a Licensed Psychologist (OH) and holds the Diplomate in School Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology and the Diplomate in School Neuropsychology from the American Board of School Neuropsychology. He is also a Fellow with the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Dr. Miller is a Professor Emeritus in the Psychology and Philosophy Department at Texas Woman's University (TWU). He is currently the Executive Director of the Woodcock Institute for Neurocognitive Research and Applied Practice, which is housed at TWU. Dr. Miller served as the President of NASP in 2003-04 and has been an active leader and presenter in state and national school psychology associations since 1992. He has written numerous journal articles, chapters, and books, including the Essentials of School Neuropsychology (2007; 2013; 2019), Best Practices in School Neuropsychology (2009; 2022), Evidence-Based Selective Assessment for Academic Disorders (2017). To the benefit of many children, adolescents, young adults, and practitioners who serve them, Dr. Miller’s dedication and contributions have undoubtedly left an indelible mark on the field of school neuropsychology.
