Technology needed for Course Participation

What type of Internet speed do I need to view the lectures via webinar?

It is not practical to view the live or pre-recorded Webinars on a personal computer without broadband Internet access. If you have a DSL or Cable modem you will be fine.

What is required to access the lecture handouts?

Your computer will need to have installed a free downloadable copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to open the .pdf formatted handouts. You will also need to have a copy of Microsoft Word (at least a version that will open the .doc or .docx file types of Word documents) in order to open any .doc or .docx formatted handouts. Most of the students in the program are school psychologists and are considered as educators. Check out for all of your software needs at a significant discount.

What hardware do I need for participating in small group clinical supervision?

You will need to have a USB Headset that has a built-in microphone. We have found that it does not work well using the built in microphone in a computer for the student to talk to the instructors because the rest of the audience hears the feedback of the instructor talking to the student. If a student uses a USB headset to speak into and to listen to the webinars the feedback problem is resolved. Students do not need to purchase an expensive USB headset, The headsets can be purchased for around $30.00 online at or at other electronic stores.

The program is also going to try to use webcams during small group clinical supervision. Again, these USB devices can be purchased through or other electronic stores for around $30 or less.
