CE/CPD Description:
In order to understand the central nervous system and how it affects behavior, knowledge of its component parts and their specialized functions is vital. This workshop will focus on cortical and subcortical structures that contribute to cognitive and general neuropsychological functioning for pediatric populations. Emphasis will be placed on major structures, including the cerebral hemispheres, basal ganglia, and cerebellum.

CE/CPD Goals and Objectives:
This CE/CPD Module is designed to help you:
• Identify the major cortical and subcortical structures within the central nervous system.
• Identify the functions of specific neuroanatomical structures.
• Identify the neuroanatomical correlates and behavioral symptomatology of the primary pediatric neurological disorders.

Christine L. Castillo, Ph.D., LSSP is a licensed psychologist in the Neuropsychology Service, within the Department of Psychiatry, at Children's Medical Center Dallas, and is an Assistant Professor within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. She holds the National Certification in School Psychology and is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology.She is the Editor of the book Children with Complex Medical Issues in Schools.
