CE/CPD Description:
In order to understand the central nervous system and how it affects behavior, knowledge of its component parts and their specialized functions is vital. This workshop will focus on cortical and subcortical structures that contribute to cognitive and general neuropsychological functioning for pediatric populations. Emphasis will be placed on major structures, including the cerebral hemispheres, basal ganglia, and cerebellum.

CE/CPD Goals and Objectives:
This CE/CPD Module is designed to help you:
• Identify the major cortical and subcortical structures within the central nervous system.
• Identify the functions of specific neuroanatomical structures.
• Identify the neuroanatomical correlates and behavioral symptomatology of the primary pediatric neurological disorders.

About the Presenter:


Dr. Christine Castillo, Ph.D., LSSP
Christine L. Castillo, PhD, ABPP, NCSP is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she relocated in 2015 after working for 10 years at Children's Medical Center Dallas and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. She is board certified in clinical neuropsychology, is a board certified subspecialist in pediatric neuropsychology, and holds the National Certification in School Psychology. In addition to her clinical work with complex medical and psychiatric pediatric clients, she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses; mentored early career psychologists; trained doctoral students, interns, and postdoctoral fellows; and is the sole editor of Children with Complex Medical Issues in Schools.
