What Credentials Need to be Obtained in Order to Deliver School Neuropsychological Services?

All of the professionals trained in school neuropsychology are encouraged to obtain and maintain the Diplomate in School Neuropsychology Credential from the American Board of School Neuropsychology (www.absnp.com) which is a peer-reviewed entry level credential that endorsed entry-level practice skills of the recipient.

Licensed doctoral psychologists with specialty training in school neuropsychology may also choose to apply to the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology (ABPdN) to become Board Certified in Pediatric Neuropsychology.

The Diplomate in School Neuropsychology credential is not sufficient by itself to deliver school neuropsychological services. The Diplomate in School Neuropsychology credential is a peer-reviewed endorsement of entry level competency in school neuropsychology which must be coupled with a state board of education certification in school psychology, or equivalent title, or licensure to practice psychology in the schools from a state psychology licensing board.
