CE/CPD Description:
Dr. Flectcher-Janzen is a national expert on the neuropsychology of chronic illnesses. She will focus on the role that school psychologists and school neuropsychologists play in working with children who have chronic illnesses such as diabetes, asthma, and seizure disorders.

CE/CPD Goals and Objectives:
This CE/CPD Module is designed to help you:
• Identify the WHO Conceptual Framework for Health
• Identify some risk factors for chronic illnesses in low SES children.
• Identify the neuropsychological correlates to diabetes.
• Identify the neuropsychological correlates in asthma.

About the Presenter:


Dr. Elaine Fletcher-Janzen, Ed.D.
Elaine Fletcher-Janzen, Ed.D., NCSP obtained her doctorate in School Psychology from the College of William and Mary in 1993, and received her Diplomate in Pediatric Neuropsychology in 2010. She has been a school psychologist in public schools, neuropsychiatric inpatient, and university settings for the past 27 years, and is currently a full Professor of School Psychology at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Fletcher-Janzen has co-edited and authored 16 books and reference works, including the Encyclopedia of Special Education, the Diagnostic Desk Reference of Childhood Disorders, Neuropsychological Perspectives on the Diagnosis of Learning Disabilities in the Era of RTI, Neuropsychology of Women, and the Handbook of Clinical Child Neuropsychology. Her current research interests address cross-cultural aspects of cognitive abilities, the impact of socioeconomic status on intelligence scores and identification of learning disabilities, neuropsychological aspects of chronic illness, and the systematic management of pediatric chronic illness in school and clinical settings.
