Sample Lecture Topics

Participants will be able to download all Powerpoint™ lecture notes from the course web site and save them for future reference and study. The course is contained with a course platform called Blackboard™, which is commonly used by universities across the country.

The following lecture topics will be presented:

  • Historical trends in clinical/pediatric/school neuropsychology.
  • Why the increased interest in school-neuropsychology?
  • What school-neuropsychologists do?
  • When to refer for a school-neuropsychological assessment.
  • Differences between a psychoeducational and neuropsychological evaluation.
  • Legislative factors that affect the practice of school-neuropsychology (e.g., NCLB, IDEA).
  • IDEA reauthorization and Specific Learning Disabilities.
  • What is the state of the art of school-neuropsychology?
  • A conceptual model for school neuropsychological assessment and interventions.
